Schlaufux on Tour
The exhibition consists of 5 modules,
cover the following topics
Modul 1: The Biosphere Reserve Nockberge
This station explains where the biosphere reserve is located, which municipalities it includes, what makes a biosphere reserve, and what the differences are from nature and national parks.
Modul 2: Geology of the Nockberge
This module introduces the geology of the Nockberge Biosphere Park to children in a playful way. A special feature is the extraordinary variety of rocks and minerals, some of which the students can examine more closely. You will also learn why some plants only grow in certain places.
Modul 3: Animals in the Nockberge
Here, the focus is on the habitats and lifestyles of characteristic animals of the Nockberge Biosphere Park. Whether it’s the capercaillie, marmot, nutcracker, or Alpine salamander, the biosphere park rangers have many stories to tell about these animals.
Modul 4: Colorful Variety – Plant Life
In the exhibition, students “travel through” the various elevation zones of the Nockberge Mountains and assign plants, which are presented in a wide variety, to their habitats. The classes learn how to identify individual plants and what the people of the Nock region make from spike, arnica, or pine, by assembling giant puzzle pieces.
Modul 5: Man in the Biosphere
This module discusses the lives of people in harmony with nature in the biosphere reserve. The theme aims to create awareness of regional issues and to address the people in the Nockberge Biosphere Park.
